Genetic Evidence and Innovative Health Technologies

It was a privilege to present my PhD research on genetic evidence and tort law at the Centre for Law and Genetics Regulation of Innovative Health Technologies Workshop which took place between the 23rd and 25th of November 2023. This workshop included presentations from 24 intellectual property law experts in biotechnology and medicine from universities in the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, China and Canada. The presentations explored, inter alia, the role of patents in regulating innovative health technologies; patenting licensing as a regulatory mechanism; and the role of tort law in regulating the development of health technologies. It included presentations from leading international scholars such as Prof Jorge Contreras, Prof Jacob S Sherkow, Prof Robert Cook-Deegan, Prof Tania Bubela, and Prof Aisling McMahon .
